Coco coir (also called coco peat or soil) comes from Swell Reptiles in a 10l bag and can be used as a substrate for any rainforest set-up, including frog and gecko enclosures, as well as a peat-free compost potting mix for planting. Alternatively, the coco coir can be mixed with sand to create an ideal environment for digging species like monitors. Coco coir can even be used in bioactive enclosures, giving your clean-up crew their own little ecosystem to live in. Often, coco coir is thrown away as a waste product of the coconut industry.
